Adam, 18, He has been at Giddings for 1 1/2 months. It is "all right - but it sort of sucks." He was in Cisco Matthews Vocational for 6 months and Lubbock Detention Center for three months, but violated probation for alcohol, possession of a controlled substance, prescription pills, being high at school, theft, and burglary of a motor vehicle. Trouble started in fourth grade at 11 years old. His parents are split up. His mother is a nurse's aid, his dad is a roofer, his brother is in the army. Adam hasn't seen his brother in four years. His older sister works in a detention center, but he doesn't talk to her. His release date is set for June 12th. He would like to get into a Junior College, but says that people are not really helping with the application process. He has applied for financial aide and has a high school diploma. He is an artist. He likes to draw, especially people and cartoons and elaborate calligraphy.
